Creative Dance
Creative Dance
The Dance CCA was one of the first CCAs to be set up when the school started.
We had different ethnic dance groups those days. Over some years, equality
and diversity took great importance in our merger to Creative Dance CCA.
Students are given the opportunity to discover and explore the various
dance forms and genres including Fusion and Contemporary Dance, developing
them to be versatile dancers. We have a team of dancers from various ethnic groups
and different nations. As such, this CCA provides them a platform to develop
cultural awareness.
Creative Dance teaches respect, resilience and discipline alongside other
school values which are regularly reinforced by our team of dedicated teachers
and instructors. It also prides itself on the strong friendships forged
and rapport between the dancers, teachers, and instructors.

Guzheng
Guzheng
Park View Primary School Guzheng Ensemble has been established since the
school started in 1997. Guzheng, a traditional Chinese musical instrument,
plays an important part in the Chinese culture. Playing the Guzheng helps
to build patience as well as self-discipline and foster cooperation among
the students. In addition, they also learn to appreciate and enjoy the
musical pieces.
Beside participating in biennial Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) Arts Presentation,
the ensemble performs during school events such as Chinese New Year concert
and Mid-Autumn concert. In the recent years, the ensemble has also been
invited to perform at the Pasir Ris West CNY dinner celebration.

Show Choir
Show Choir
Show Choir combines choral singing with dance movements, occasionally
within the context of a specific idea or story. Our PVPS Choir began in
January 2011 as a traditional choir ensemble. Over the years, under the
guidance of instructors from John & Deniece Glee Studio LLP, it has
evolved into a Show Choir where elements such as voice training, singing
techniques, dance moves as well as stage etiquette are incorporated.
In PVPS Show Choir, members are nurtured into confident and resilient
individuals. They will be given opportunities to perform for special school
events as well as events held by external organisations.
PVPS Show Choir CCA aims to:
-
Develop the students’ love for the Arts
-
Build students’ confidence in self-expression through singing, dance movement and acting
-
Cultivate good qualities in the forms of Musicianship and Showmanship
-
Imbue values such as respect, resilience, discipline, building character & team spirit
